Our Story
On a tiny hill on Church Street in the charming town of Morristown, Ohio, sits The Vestry, a church building turned event venue. Built in 1848, the former home of Morristown Presbyterian Church closed its doors in September 2009.
Vaughn and Lisa Butler, neighbors to the old church, decided that even though the church had ended its ministry it had not finished its mission, and purchased the building.
In appreciation of Morristown’s history, the Butlers began renovations - keeping many historical elements intact. The church was renamed The Vestry to respect its association with the former place of worship.
The Vestry opened its doors offering quaint events in April of 2011.
In a classic case of “when one door closes another opens”, the Vestry provides a venue with a historical elegance for business and family functions and can accommodate 75 guests.
